Photobook Club #2 : Portraiture

In this Photobook Club session, we focused on portraiture and the ways people are represented through photobooks.
We discussed how portraiture can move beyond appearance, opening up questions around identity, intimacy, distance, performance, and the relationship between photographer and subject. The conversation also considered how sequencing, layout, and book structure can shape the way we encounter the people within its pages.
